Lira City’s Northern Gateway football club on Sunday qualified to play in the 2022/2023 StarTimes FUFA Big League after beating Nwoya District’s Young Elephants 5-4 on penalties at Pece War Memorial Stadium in Gulu City.
The two clubs had to tussle it out in the penalty shootouts after playing a2 all draw in the normal time.
Young Elephants Football Club will now drop back to the Regional League.
The StarTimes FUFA Big League is the second tier of Ugandan football pyramid.
